Dean Meisenheimer, 86, of Greenfield

Graveside Services: Will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Greenfield Cemetery. Coffee and Bars will be served at the church following the graveside services at the cemetery. Pastor David Kincaide will officiate the service.  

Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Sunday, November 5th, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenfield. 

Memorials: Memorials may be made to the Dean Meisenheimer memorial fund to be established by the family. 

Dean Henry Meisenheimer was born January 25, 1931, in Adair County, Iowa, the son of Marx and Mary (Bruhn) Meisenheimer. He passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at the Greenfield Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Greenfield, Iowa, at the age of 86.

Dean was raised in Adair County and attended country school through the eighth grade. He served his country in the United States Navy. On November 21, 1956, he was united in marriage to Rose Anne Lee in the First Presbyterian Church in Greenfield.

Dean lived all of his life in Adair County, Iowa. He served his country in the United States Navy. Dean worked for Schildberg Construction Company for over 40 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Greenfield American Legion Head-Endres Post No. 265 and V.F.W. Post No. 5357. He enjoyed watching football and John Wayne movies, gardening, trapping, attending and helping with auctions, and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Doris McCarthy; brothers-in-law, John McCarthy and Charles Lee; two brothers, John Dallas and Ted Meisenheimer; infant brother, Dean; son-in-law, Dale Jameson; daughter-in-law, Susan Meisenheimer; and granddaughter, Danielle Cherry.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Anne Meisenheimer of Greenfield; six children, Deb Jameson of Fontanelle, Kathy Hagen (Bruce) of Columbia Falls, MT, Julie Pernu (Robert) of Polk City, IA, Dean Alan Meisenheimer of Creston, Lori Armstrong (Scott) of Greenfield and Daryl Meisenheimer (Jenny) of Houston, TX; 12 grandchildren, Angie Jameson, Jeff Jameson, Ben Jameson, Travis Armstrong, Tyson Armstrong, Spring Thompson, Barry Hagen, Kaili Hagan, Nyssa Meisenheimer, Nevin Meisenheimer, Sarah Meisenheimer and Paris Meisenheimer; 16 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lucille Meisenheimer and Jeri Lee; grandson-in-law, Kevin Cherry; other relatives and friends.
