Marlene “Mollie” Lamborn was born February 26, 1940, in Fontanelle, Iowa, the daughter of Art and Clio (Morley) Miller. She passed away on Friday, November 15, 2019, at her home in Fontanelle, Iowa, at the age of 79.
Mollie grew up on the Fontanelle square in a three rise building. She spent most of her childhood playing outside at the park or was on the back of a horse. She loved riding with her friends especially Patty Queck. She attended Fontanelle High School and was on the basketball team.
Mollie moved to Des Moines after high school and worked multiple jobs including: a dance instructor at Arthur Murray, decorating window designs for J.C. Penny’s and was an excellent pool player. She moved back to Fontanelle upon the death of her father and began working at the Greenfield Medical Clinic for 25 years. This is where she met her lifetime friend and ‘sister’ Kay.
She was united in marriage to Thomas P. Lamborn on May 25, 1969. To this union one daughter, Tara was born. Molly was adored everyday hence forth.
Mollie was so special. Her beautiful soul captured new comers and longtime friendships as she was always willing to make a joke or lend a hand to someone in their time of need. She was the most magnificent wife, mother and sister. She will be loved for eternity.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Lamborn of Fontanelle; daughter, Tara Fisk and husband Jerry of Des Moines; brother, Max Miller of Scottsdale, Arizona; other relatives and many wonderful friends.
